Leslie Coonrod is the Associate Director of the Bioinformatics and Genomics Master’s Program within the Knight Campus Internship Program. She focuses primarily on curriculum development, student mentoring, and technical instruction within the life sciences tracks.
Leslie received her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Oregon in 2012, where her work focused on identifying small molecule treatments for Myotonic Dystrophy (DM). After graduating, Leslie completed a postdoctoral research position in Andy Berglund’s lab. She began working with the BGMP in 2015 as a lecturer and transitioned to her current role in 2016. She continues to incorporate her Myotonic Dystrophy research into problem sets and projects for the BGMP students.
