Emma Stowe joined the Knight Campus in September 2026 as a postdoctoral scholar in the Guldberg and Willett research groups. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University in 2026 and her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University in 2020. Emma’s doctoral research used ex vivo tendon explants models to investigate how exercise and aging regulate extracellular matrix remodeling. Her current research aims to integrate mechanobiology and orthopedic rehabilitation to engineer new therapies that promote musculoskeletal health across the lifespan. Emma is passionate about mentorship, community building, and research that serves underrepresented populations. Outside the lab, she enjoys staying active outdoors through running, hiking, backpacking, and cycling.
