Angela Lin is a senior research engineer in the Guldberg Lab at the Knight Campus and the director of the X-ray Imaging Research Core Facility. She received an MS in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a thesis focused on developing and characterizing biodegradable polymer scaffolds with multi-scale porosity for bone tissue engineering.
Lin has 20+ years of experience applying quantitative microcomputed tomography (microCT) and mechanical characterization techniques to various orthopedic research areas. Her current research interests include developing targeted and sustained local delivery of therapeutics for osteoarthritis, investigating local effects of mechanics and rehabilitation on musculoskeletal regeneration after traumatic injury, and exploring the structural, mechanical, and biological effects of combining 3D printed metal and polymeric porous scaffolds with bioprinted materials.
