Bill Cresko, UO Director for the Center for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS), and Sadik Esener, OHSU interim Director for CBDS, participated in the Big Ten blood drive on campus. This inter-campus competition rewards the Big Ten campus that donates the most blood.

Research

CBDS funds collaborative projects between UO and OHSU researchers, requiring at least one principal investigator from each institution to tackle complex data science challenges together. The supported research covers diverse areas including using machine learning for genetic data analysis, AI for medical imaging, aging-related cancer research, and advancing immunotherapy approaches.

Our Growing Campus 

The Knight Campus is expanding with the construction of a four-story science building that will further strengthen our research and academic capabilities. Building 2 will serve as the home for the Center for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS) and support our mission to accelerate scientific discovery and education. Scheduled to open in 2026, Building 2 is expected to house 17–20 research groups focused on bioengineering and biomedical computational science.
