Knight Campus Biological Shared Facilities Engineer
Join our team and accelerate translational research in bioengineering! The successful candidate for this new role will oversee the establishment and operations of biological shared facilities at the Knight Campus at the University of Oregon. The Knight Campus is a $1B+ effort to accelerate the impact of scientific discoveries at the intersection of science, engineering and medicine. We are making major investments in shared facilities for the analysis and fabrication of biological samples, and are currently building a biofoundry to house tools for cell and tissue characterization and biofabrication, including bioprinting. This facility will be housed in the second of two state-of-the-art buildings that form the Knight Campus, and we have obtained nearly $10M in state funding for new equipment. Additional, complementary facilities are available at the University of Oregon in areas such as materials characterization and genomics. This position is an exciting, well-resourced opportunity to work with Knight Campus faculty and leadership to establish, manage and support these facilities. The successful candidate will have the technical background needed to support cutting-edge biological instrumentation, as well as experience managing shared facilities and professional skills needed to interface with a diverse user base. We look forward to adding to our growing staff of accomplished scientists in a dynamic and innovative environment. Apply here.
