Fall Symposium
Center for Biomedical Data Science
The Center for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS) is joint research initiative through the University of Oregon (UO) and Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), dedicated to using advanced data science to understand biological systems across all scales.
CBDS Fall Symposium
October 15th 2026 at the Knight Campus.
The landscape of research funding is rapidly evolving, with growing emphasis on New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and the integration of data science tools, including machine learning and AI, into biological research. The CBDS Fall Symposium is a one-day event designed to bring together researchers, from molecular biology and organoids to computer science and data science, who are already working at this intersection, or who are eager to explore it.
The day will feature talks from current CBDS seed fund awardees at the University of Oregon, Oregon Health Sciences University, and Oregon State University, alongside researchers who may be interested in collaborating on future projects and grants. Our goal is to nucleate new research projects, connect researchers with seed funding opportunities through CBDS, and build a statewide network of scientists with complementary skills and expertise, so that teams across Oregon are better positioned to bridge gaps and compete for future funding together.
Registration information will be provided soon.
