The Knight Campus Graduate Internship Program has been awarded a Workforce Ready: Innovation in Workforce Programs Grant totaling $1,039,835. The grant was awarded by the Higher Education Coordination Commission as part of Future Ready Oregon, a comprehensive program established by the passage of Senate Bill 1545 that supports the education and training of Oregonians for meaningful careers in healthcare, manufacturing, and technology industries while prioritizing historically underserved and vulnerable populations. The UO application was among the highest scoring, centering equity, innovation, and partnerships. This works connects into the Oregon Pathways to Industrial Research Careers (OPIRC) work funded with a $4.3 million grant from the National Science Foundation. Both OPIRC and the recently funded Workforce Ready program have direct partnerships, scholarship opportunities and career supports for students at Lane Community College, Umpqua Community College, and Central Oregon Community College.
