The 5th Annual Oregon Bioengineering Symposium will be held in person on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, at the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon.
Below are details you may need in preparation for poster sessions.
Poster Size and Format:
- All posters should lay flat when unrolled and have maximum dimensions of 36” x 48” in a horizontal/landscape format.
- Please see template for recommended formatting of your poster.
- Posters should be printed on paper or thin cardboard. Please do not use heavy posterboard or materials such as foam core.
- Posters may contain photos and graphics and should communicate your research clearly and succinctly.
Poster Setup:
- You will be assigned a number for your poster and notified via email no later than 1 week prior to the symposium.
- Posters may be hung on the morning of the symposium between 8:00-10:00 am. If you are unable to hang your poster during this timeframe, please email bioengineering@uoregon.edu to let us know. When you arrive at the symposium, please check-in at the registration table first and you will be directed to your location.
- Poster locations will be throughout the building and may attach to a window/glass, wall, or a cork poster board. You will be given either tape or push pins to attach your poster according to the surface you are assigned. Please do not use your own fasteners. You may not post your poster outside your assigned number’s space.
- Please remove your poster at the end of the poster session, no later than 3:30 pm. Posters left out beyond this time may be removed by staff and we cannot guarantee return.
Poster Presentation:
- The poster session is during the lunch break from 12:00-1:30 pm. Please plan to staff your poster from at least 12:30-1:30 pm.
- Poster presenters will have box lunches available earlier than the rest of the registrants, to allow time for you to eat prior to presenting. We will have further instructions on when and where to pick up your lunch upon check-in.
- Award judges may be previewing posters during the morning break from 10:00-10:30 am, but you do not need to staff your poster during this time. Award judges will also visit posters during the official poster session.
- Awards will be announced during the last session of the Symposium between 4:30-5:00 pm.
