OBS Is Sold Out!
With nearly 300 registrations, OBS has reached its highest participation to date! You may have noticed that we have closed registration due to capacity. It's exciting to have such a great turnout, and in order to provide a quality experience for symposium attendees, we cannot accept late registrations. If you have already registered but not paid, you may do so at the door with cash and card.
Getting to the Knight Campus
Directions to the Knight Campus at the University of Oregon:
- From I-5: Follow to Exit 192 for OR-99/)R-126 Bus W toward Univerity of Oregon. From Franklin Blvd. turn RIGHT onto Riverfront Parkway. The Knight Campus will be on your left.
- To access the Millrace Parking Garage, continue down Riverfront Parkway and turn RIGHT on Millrace Drive. Turn LEFT into the parking garage and use the kiosk to enter.
Parking on UO campus is limited, so carpooling is encouraged and appreciated. The closest parking lot for Knight Campus is the Millrace Parking Garage located at 1625 Millrace Drive. Cost for daily parking is $8, payable at the garage kiosk. If you need ADA accessibility assistance, please email bioengineering@uoregon.edu prior to the event so we may accommodate you. A map showing other UO parking options, include the 13th Avenue Garage, is linked here.
Because of the number of attendees, we expect congestion in and around the parking garage. Please allow for sufficient time to find parking and walk to the Knight Campus (approximately 5-7 minute walk from the Millrace Garage).
When You Arrive
Symposium check-in will be on the first floor inside the Knight Campus between the north and south entrances. Please be sure to check in prior to attending a session to receive your name badge, program booklet, and lunch and drink tickets. Coffee and pastries will be available throughout the morning at no cost, and Starbucks will be open for orders through mid-afternoon.
Poster, Speaker, and Sponsor Check-in is from 7:30-9:00 am.
Regular Check-in Begins at 8:15 am.
Each seminar room seats approximately 150 attendees, so participants will be split between rooms throughout the symposium. Both the Opening Session and teh Keynote/Awards/Closing Session will be held in the Beetham Family Seminar Room and live-streamed to Seminar Room 156-158. The morning and afternoon will offer parallel sessions so participants may choose which session to attend until the room is full. Please see the schedule for session details.
UO Catering has done their best to accomodate the dietary restrictions that were indicated on registration forms. If you have dietary needs, please let our staff know at lunch pick-up and they will provide you with your custom-prepared meal.
OBS Networking Opportunities
Several networking opportunities will be available at the Symposium. Visit one of the sponsor tables in the lobby to learn more about graduate programs in the state or industry opportunities and innovations, participate in Social Bingo to get to know your fellow participants during the breaks, and be sure to join us immediately following the symposium for a hosted reception on the terrace. The Knight Campus Papé Family innovation Center will be open during the afternoon break for self-guided tours.
