The fifth annual Oregon Bioengineering Symposium will take place at Knight Campus this Friday, Nov. 3. Registration for the event is now closed as attendance has reached capacity for Building 1. The symposium is co-sponsored by the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and Oregon Health & Science University and aims to bring together esteemed researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals from various bioengineering disciplines.
This year's conference theme, "Translating Ideas into Practice," emphasizes the importance of bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications within the field of bioengineering. For the first time in OBS history, the symposium will welcome an outside speaker for the featured keynote address. Dr. Jason Burdick, who is Bowman Endowed Professor of the BioFrontiers Institute and Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, is the 2023 keynote speaker. OBS is gearing up to be one of the largest events ever hosted at Knight Campus Building 1. Members of our community should expect additional traffic around Knight Campus as well as a greater than normal use of the Millrace Parking Garage and other area parking lots. Additionally, please allow for extra time moving around the building as there will be events and activities, including poster sessions in the bridge over Franklin Boulevard, throughout floors one and two as well as the basement.
