Knight Campus Graduate Students Recognized at Oregon Bioengineering Symposium 2024

Several Knight Campus Department of Bioengineering graduate students were recognized for their presentations at the Sixth Annual Oregon Bioengineering Symposium at Oregon Health & Science University on Nov. 15, 2024, in the following categories:

  • Xun Yu received the Excellence in Research Award for his abstract presentation “Skin Phototype Classification with Machine Learning based on Broadband Optical Measurements”
  • Ander Switalla earned the Excellence in Research Award for his abstract presentation "“Multi-region Microelectrode Array for Studying Alterations in Neural Oscillatory Activity”
  • Nick Pancheri won the Best Poster Award for his poster "Low intensity physical rehabilitation modestly attenuates tibial osteophytes and pain sensitization in a preclinical anterior cruciate ligament rupture model"

A collaboration between Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon, the Oregon Bioengineering Symposium is a one-day annual event that brings together scientists, clinicians, and industry partners from across the state to engage over research advancements in the field of bioengineering.
