The Knight Campus Graduate Internship Program (KCGIP) welcomed its latest academic cohort of 89 students on Tuesday. Their arrival kicked off Professional Development and Orientation Week, which supports student success in the accelerated master’s program.
Nationally recognized for its innovative approach to graduate education, the KCGIP is designed to meet the technology needs of industrial, academic, clinical, and national labs. Students in the 25-year-old program can pursue specializations in bioinformatics, molecular sensors and biotechnology, optics, polymers, photovoltaics and semiconductors.
KCGIP’s week-long orientation precedes the start of immersive technical coursework and is focused on building community and cultivating strong professional relationships, while introducing students to a breadth of leadership topics. The week’s schedule includes workshops, a panel discussion, coffee breaks, catered lunches, small group discussions and an alumni and student mixer.
