The Spring 2025 schedule for the Knight Campus Department of Bioengineering Seminar Series has been released. This engaging lineup runs through June 9 and offers a mix of graduate student presentations, company talks, guest speakers, and panels that highlight research and provide a platform for students to present their work.
A standout event is the April 14 seminar, “Innovation in Action: Startups from the Knight Campus,” which features four 10-minute talks from emerging companies: Penderia, VivoTex, Synplexity, and AsteriaRx. Attendees will hear brief presentations on each company’s technology and entrepreneurial journey, followed by a panel discussion.
Additional speakers this spring include Cristiane Miranda Franca, Associate Professor at Oregon Health & Science University (April 7), Lola Eniola Adefeso, Professor of Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (June 2), and Laurel Hind, Associate Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder (June 9), alongside a variety of graduate student and postdoctoral presenters.
"The seminar series provides an opportunity for student trainees to sharpen their presentation skills and for researchers and innovators to exchange ideas, explore new technologies, and spark collaborations," said Gabriella Lindberg, an assistant professor in the Department of Bioengineering and the co-chair of the Bioengineering Seminar Series, along with fellow assistant professor Parisa Hosseinzadeh.
Seminars are held most Mondays from 1-2 p.m. in the Beetham Family Seminar Room at the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, with a short reception following each session. For more information, see the Department of Bioengineering Seminar Series web page.
