Marian Hettiaratchi received a $50,000 NSF I-Corps award to explore the commercial potential of a material developed in her lab. Designed to capture and gradually release the body’s own healing proteins at an injury site, the technology could offer a new approach to tissue repair, beginning with chronic wounds. Her team will assess unmet needs and potential pathways to accelerate the translation of this regenerative technology from the lab to clinical application.
