

The Knight Campus welcomed 7 PhD students in the fall of 2024 with a range of talents and interests. They share a commitment to making an impact while taking their science, and their careers, to the next level.

The Knight Campus welcomed 12 PhD students in the fall of 2023. The majority are new graduate students to the Department of Bioengineering along with other students working in Knight Campus labs from a variety of science disciplines at the UO. Their collective research interests span from regenerative medicine to constructing microdevices for neuroengineering to drug delivery. Students in this cohort come from Oregon, across the country, and around the world, including Germany, India, and China.

This year’s class includes students with many transdisciplinary research interests, from applying machine learning to the development of therapeutics, to using mechanical engineering skills to regenerate bone tissue.

The Knight Campus welcomed 12 new graduate students this fall term, doubling the enrollment within the bioengineering PhD program.

The Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact welcomed its first cohort in September 2020. Despite a global pandemic, all new students began their respective learning and research journeys.
