Apply for the iGEM 2026 Team!
The University of Oregon iGEM team based in the Knight Campus is seeking undergraduate students for their 2026 synthetic-biology related project. iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is an organization that hosts a yearly synthetic biology competition between student-led teams from around the world. Last year’s team worked on a project focused on Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), a disorder in which the body’s allergy-response cells misfire, releasing chemicals that can cause anything from skin irritation, digestive problems, to severe allergic reactions, and won a gold medal at the 2025 iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris.
